At our July 8, 2025 business meeting, the PMAGC Executive Board presented this to the membership as a new possible project to take on and the members loved it! We discussed/brainstormed for 45 minutes. The energy was amazing. After that meeting a handful of folks offered to create a subcommittee and they have been meeting regularly to make this happen.
After going on the road around town all summer to various stakeholder groups, member of the PMAGC Community Garden Subcommittee presented a community garden concept to the Paxton Select Board on Monday, November 24th. The concept and pitch was overwhelmingly received and the Select Board unanimously approved a motion to grant us the open space next to the basketball courts at Center Fields to create a community garden.
Huge thanks Paxton Recreation and Select Board for its support. PMAGC is excited to create this new amenity for the community.

The estimate complete project cost is upwards of $125,000. This includes land clearing and preparation, a retaining wall, staircase, ADA ramp (all from the parking lot), raised beds, rain catchment system, greenhouse, shed, pergola, and picnic tables. The entire project will be self funded at no expense to the Paxton taxpayer.
PMAGC is actively fundraising, applying for grants, seeking monetary donations and in-kind support from licensed contractors, landscapers etc.
